It is a quiet town tucked away in the Great Smoky Mountains with endless outdoor activities, such as Hiking the Appalachian Trail, rafting and kayaking the many rivers in the area, fishing, biking, and even Gem Mining. After such exciting activities there is still plenty to keep you occupied. Franklin has many festivals such as Picking on the square every Saturday night, Pumpkin Fest Fourth of July Fireworks, several parades and street parties.
